Telkom University was established on August 14, 2013 by the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education Kemendikbud No. 309 / E / 0/2013.

UniversitasTelkom is held by Telkom Education Foundation, an amalgamation of the four Colleges, namely Telkom Institute of Technology (IT Telkom), Telkom Institute of Management (IM Telkom), Polytechnic Telkom, and the High School of Art and Design Indonesia Telkom (STISI Telkom).

Telkom University campus located in Bandung region Technoplex. The campus was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Suharto in March 24, 1994. In the past, the area is the location of the placement of the second oldest radio stations in Indonesia owned by the Dutch colonial government, which then joined the news proclaimed the Declaration of Independence of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia on 17 August 1945 to various parts of the world.
