A.C. Milan was founded in 1899 with the name of Cricket and Football Club Milan (Milan Cricket and Football Club) by Alfred Edwards and Herbert Kilpin, a British expatriate. As a tribute to its origins, Milan still use the English spelling of the city name (Milan) rather than using the spelling of Italian Milano.
In the decade of the 50s, Milan feared in world football field because it has GreNoLi trio, which consists of Gunnar Gren, Gunnar Nordahl and Nils Liedholm. All three are Swede. Gren and Nordahl operating in the front as a striker, while Liedholm support the attack as a shadow striker.
At the end of the 2008-2009 season, Milan was ranked 3rd league Serie A, two ranks below rivals, Internazionale the Scudetto and under Juventus. To remedy this unsatisfactory result, Milan bring young coach and former Milan player 90s, Milan coach Leonardo to replace the previous, Ancelotti who "move to London", precisely club Chelsea.
